Email Isn’t Boring. You’re Just Doing it Wrong.
Your inbox is overflowing. Ours too. So when an email actually gets opened, and clicked, that’s no accident. It’s crafted.

If your email marketing feels flat, you are not alone. But that doesn't mean email is dead. It means it needs a reboot. Here's how to make your emails a welcome visitor rather than one more notification to swipe away.
1. Design Like It Matters (Because It Does)
Most email platforms hand you a solid template. That doesn't mean you should stop at good enough.
- Mobile first, always. Most email gets read on a phone. Keep the layout simple, the tap targets big, and the text scannable.
- Visual hierarchy. Use headings, spacing, and bold type to guide the eye. Make the call to action impossible to miss.
- Consistent branding. Your emails should look and feel like your site. Colour, tone, logo use. Tighten it all up.
2. Write Like a Human (Not a Marketer)
Nobody wants to read jargon. Or a corporate pep talk. Write like you're talking to a smart friend.
- Subject lines that tease, not tell. Aim for intrigue, not summary. "You forgot something" beats "Reminder: your cart is waiting."
- Body copy that breathes. Short sentences. Clear voice. Room to skim.
- Calls to action that sound real. "Let's do this" or "See what's new" beats "Click here" every time.
3. Send Less, Say More
Email fatigue is real. The answer isn't more volume. It's more value.
- Segment your list. Stop blasting, start targeting. Write for where someone actually is in your funnel.
- Make it about them. Less "we launched," more "you get."
- Surprise them occasionally. Unexpected value, whether a genuinely useful resource, a sneak peek or a real thank-you, builds goodwill that a discount code can't.
4. Track What Actually Matters
Open rates are fickle, and they got more fickle when inbox providers started pre-loading images. Watch the things that survive that:
- Click-throughs. Is anyone engaging, or just receiving?
- Conversions. Do they act, buy, book, reply?
- Unsubscribes. Is the message hitting the wrong notes, or the wrong people?
Email Isn't Dead. Bad Email Is.
Treat email like an afterthought and that's exactly how your audience will treat it. Design with intention and write with personality, and it becomes what it was always meant to be: a direct line to people who already want to hear from you.
Make it worth their while.
